Women in Community Services:
WICS Lifeskills prepares public assistance recipients to obtain and advance
in full-time, permanent employment. The Lifeskills program empowers TANF participants
to not only move off welfare but to continue in their development and to move
up and out of poverty.
Three Guineas Fund:
The Three Guineas Fund, founded in 1995, promotes social justic for women
and girls by expanding access to opportunity in education and the economy.
Jewish Vocational Services:
This program assists individuals transitioning from welfare into the workforce.
The program includes 15-20 classroom hours a week of basic vocational training,
job search and retention techniques, mentor support and a three-month paid
internship.
The Tides Center:
The Tides Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting people
working for social change.
Craigslist:
Craigslist provides free web hosting and technical services to Women In Action. In addition, Women In Action has been a featured nonprofit on the Craigslist home page and received significant funding as a result of participation in a Craigslist venture forum in July 2000.
