Prior to the WIA activity, we received a lot of resistance from the participants about this activity -- fueled by the apprehension and anxiety of entering an unfamiliar territory. After the outings, the participants' prior expectations were transformed into feelings of pride, success, accomplishment and a can-do attitude. Their self-esteem and confidence were so visibly boosted. Not only were they proud of themselves, but they also became cheerleaders for each other's victories and successes. -- Partner |
